Why Use Natural Soap, Is it Really Better For You?
One of the most basic soaps that I make is Lavender, created with Lavender essential oil, along with a base of vegetable oils, lye and water. A lot of the brand name soaps are starting to make soap with some vegetable oils, along with mineral oil (a petroleum product, which is from crude oil), but the amount of chemicals in these bars is almost impossible to believe.
Let’s look at two ingredient lists:
Indigo Earth’s Lavender Soap: Olive oil, Canola Oil, Coconut oil, Palm Oil, Water (spring), Lye, Lavender essential oil, Ratonjot (a natural botanical colorant).
